Lulzacite was found in quartz veinlets, a few centimeters thick, that occur at the contact between Ordovician quartzite and limestone in a quarry 8 km west of Châteaubriant.
The quartz veinlets are cutting an Ordovician oolitic ironstone that has been hydrothermally sulphidized during Hercynian orogenesis.
