The Abrams Creek pickeringite occurrence is an outcrop that is exposed along Abrams Creek in Brook Park, Cuyahoga County. Ernest Carlson (1991, p. 113, 2015, p. 201) noted that the locality was the Rocky River, about 0.5 miles south of the mouth of Abrams Creek. This is an error as Collins (1924) actually refers to an outcrop along Abram’s Creek itself and the outcrop is a ½ mile south from the mouth of Abrams Creek. The rocks exposed at the outcrop is the Devonian Cleveland Shale Member.
Collins (1924) and Carlson (1991, 2015) also noted that the locality was in Middleburg Township. In 1914, Brook Park broke away from the township and remainder of the township was incorporated in 1927 as Middleburg Heights.
Robert Collins (1924, p. 291) noted efflorescence of pickeringite at the locality.
The locality is located at the NASA Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field and the locality is not accessible to the public.
