The main ore of the Margarita mine is Galena, which is the source of many of the rare minerals. Vugs in galena sometimes contain fine crystals of penfieldite, cotunnite and percylite-pseudoboleite. About 30 m above the galena-rich zones vuggy quartz veins are host to chlorargyrite crystals, seeligerite, sometimes diaboleite or pseudoboleite as well as caracolite and boleite.
