An asbestos occurrence in the N½ sec. 24, T1N, R18E, on the east side of Oak Creek, about 1 mile SW of the southern end of Black Mesa Canyon, about 5 miles NNE of San Carlos. NOTE: The coordinates provided in MRDS file #10065089 are apparently in error since they place the locality N of Black Mesa; whereas, the coordinates from MRDS file #10137171 lace it exactly where it is described as being, based on the lat-long taken from an arbitrary point along Oak Creek.
Mineralization is chrysotile in a small outcrop of Mescal Limestone intruded by diabase and overlain by Troy Quartzite.
