This vein, complex in structure, cuts across road D 134, 800 meters SW from La Redonde hamlet. Hosts rocks : Velay granite and migmatites.
It can be followed on 2 kilometers to the SW (Les Auvagniers and Reyrat woods).
Several mineralizing stages are known:
a) Microbrecciated black quartz with arsenopyrite
b) Low deposits of dark purple fluorite with agate and hematoid/white quartz crystals
c) Deposits of banded purple/green fluorite (cubic or octahedral) and white baryte blades alternating with quartz
d) Dissolution of the fluorite providing perimorphs
e) Very low deposits of pale blue/colorless cubic fluorite with baryte and galena in the cavities.
f) Alteration of the primary sulphides and formation of secondary minerals
This deposit was mined briefly for baryte in the late 1920s but stocks proved too small for a profitable operation. Today, the adit is collapsed and the shaft is backfilled since 2009.
