Altitude: 0-167 m asl. It is the biggest stope of the mine and is divided in two, alto (= high) and basso (= low) parts by the internal road at Q 112.
The old Francesche stope is now the west side of Vallone basso and "Grotta Rame" (= Copper cave) was in the Vallone basso at Q. 49, while "Grotta dell'Ebreo" was in the Vallone alto at Q. 130-140.
At the sea limit there are Punta Calamita and Punta Bianca with the ruins of the wharf; at the west of the point, there is Francesche beach.

The presence of small scheelite crystals in association with magnetite has been reported at Vallone basso (Pierini, 1984).
