Kyanite-muscovite quartzite bodies, hosted within muscovite quartzite and metarhyolite of the Precambrian Petaca schist. In addition, coarser grained quartz-kyanite masses occur, which contain as much as 80% kyanite in large single crystals or rosettes.
Deposit: Deposit consists of three large and eight small pods of kyanite-bearing rock ranging from 15 to 130 ft. Long, 10 t0 110 ft. High, and 12 to 60 ft. Thick. Three unpatented claims in 1950. Both the deposit and region have been adequately studied ; info.src : 1 pub lit; 2 unpub rept
Geology: Irregular masses of kyanite - quartz rock enclosed in host rock. Samples contain 31.6% al2o3, samples of host rock contain about 19% al2o3
