Barite specimens in the National Museum of Wales collection, previously part of the Cymmer Welfare Library and Institute Collection, are labelled Llantrisant. Probably originated from one of the many disused iron mines in the area and are similar to other old NMW specimens from Mwyndy mine. Smithsonite from Llantrisant also represented in NMW collection, no further details available
