Ancient Ni-Co-Cu-Fe mine, working lenses of fine-grained sulphidic ores hosted by amphibolite and chlorite schist of the Habach Group.
The ore occurs as highly deformed lenses and stringers within a hornblendite unit chemically resembling ultramafic pyroxenite. The mineralisation consists of major pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, pyrite, pentlandite, and minor sphalerite and Ni-Co-Fe sulpharsenides (gersdorffite-cobaltite series) associated with a large number of accessory minerals (of Au, Ag, Re, Ir, Pt and Pd).
The occurrence of platinum-group minerals (as tiny dispersed grains) is unusual.
The deposit is interpreted as an orthomagmatic sulphide deposit overprinted by metamorphic processes.
