An old mine first worked in 1700.
The next recorded working was from 1845 to 1875, and 1880 to 1883, when the mine was worked with Bwlch mine to the west, Bwlchrehennaid was abandoned in 1858 in favor of Bwlch. Level Newyydd mine developed the east end of Bwlchrehennaid in 1863 to a 70 fathom level.
Combined recorded production was about 9200 tons of lead ore.
