A former Pb-Ag-Fluorspar-Baryte mine located in the W½ sec. 36, T4S, R19W, on federal land. Started 1902 and closed 1913.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Green, purple, and rose-coloured fluorite associated with calcite, baryte, galena, and wulfenite occurs in veins where Mesozoic shale, impure limestone, siltstone, and schist have been intruded by rhyolite porphyry and diorite porphyry. The main host rock is Cretaceous shale. The veins split and branch but are traceable for 4000 feet. Fluorite ore is usually less than 5 feet thick. Veins locally contain 40-60% fluorite.
Production: Any fluorspar production is a by-product of Pb mining.
