A former U-V occurrence/mine located in the SE¼SW¼NW¼ sec. 9, T26S, R9E, SLM, the SW portion of the San Raphael Swell (5.4 miles SE of VABM 6562 "Red Hills"), on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Discovered and first produced in 1952. Discovered by Vernon J. Pick. Owned by the Central Oil and Minerals. Operated by Hunt Mining. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. This mine is the type locality for boltwoodite. It closed in 1957 after extraction of a million dollars (period values) of ore.

Mineralization is a Paleocene U-V deposit, hosted in Late Triassic mudstone and sandstone of the Monitor Butte Member, Chinle Formation. The ore body is tabular-blanket in form, strikes N68E and dips 9SE at a thickness of 6.1 meters, a depth-to-bottom of 213.36 meters, a depth-to-top of 45.72 meters, a width of 15.24 meters and a length of 45.72 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included the presence of carbonized logs. Local alteration includes bleaching in sandstone and mudstone. Local rocks include Triassic and Jurassic sedimentary rocks in southeastern Utah.

Regional geologic structures include the San Raphael Swell. Local structures include N-S-trending fractures.

Workings include underground openings with a length of 1,524 meters and an overall depth of 213.36 meters.

Production data are found in: Utah Geologic and Mineral Survey (1973), Study.

Reserve-Resource data are found in: Trimble, L.M. (1977).
