Stratigraphic Name: Whitsett Formation
Comments: (upper part) Fashing Clay Member, Calliham Sandstone Member, Dubose Clay Member, Deweesville Sandstone Member, (lower part) Conquista Clay Member,Conquista Clay Member, Dilworth Sandstone Member; In north, central, and south Texas including Quaternary for all of west Texas- clay, sandstone, siltstone, and tuff. 205-325 ft thick. In East Texas and Gulf Coast to Rio Grande- Quartz sand, fine to med grained, tuffaceous, lignitic, argillaceous, locally silica cemented, lt. gray weathers dark gray. fossil wood abdt. Thickness 60 ft on Palistine Sheet (1967).
