Deposit: Veins along steeply dipping fractures. Includes data from duplicate record m054814 (black mesa) by jocelyn a. Peterson (76 09) which has been deleted.
Development: N W part of property mined in WW I by tres cuevas quicksilver co.; natural resources inc. Explored same area 1941-1943. ; econ.com: a small retort was built near mine workings and a cottrell rotary furnace was located in section 40.
Geology: Cinnabar mineralization of matrix of a cretaceous limestone collapse breccia. Mineralized fractures in devils river limestone.
Rock formation(s): Santa Elena Limestone
