Deposit: Veins in limestone barite was discovered on the west sloped pine mountain around 1930. The barite occurs as veins up to 10' wide limestone. In all about 2,500 tons of material was mined in 1931, 1956, and 1957. Listed as an active open pit barite mine in 1980, employing 3 persons ; info.src : 1 pub lit
