Zeolites are found in vesicular Miocene basalt of the Columbia River Basalt Group and in vertical veins and breccia along a fault passing through Ritter Hot springs. Most of the species listed are of poor quality coming from altered surface material collected by Hewett in 1915. The main site is along a vertical fault that pass through the hot springs and extends for several miles. Stellerite lines both sides of the fault with the best specimens coming loose and falling into the space along the fault. Collecting at this site is sporadic. The Hot Springs is often closed to the public.
