A feldspar-biotite-quartz occurrence/pegmatite in sec. 6, T30N, R22W, G&SRM, N & W of White Rock Canyon in the Black Mountains, approximately 3½ to 4 miles (6.44 km) East of Hoover Dam and nearly 2 miles (3.22 km) South of the Painted Desert, on National Recreation lands (Lake Mead National Recreation Area). Prospected for feldspar.

Mineralization is a pegmatite deposit (Mineral occurrence model information: Model code: 38; USGS model code: 13e; Deposit model name: Feldspar contained in pegmatites), hosted in Neoproterozoic gneiss. The area is underlain predominantly by Precambrian igneous rocks. These are somewhat heterogeneous in colour and composition, strongly sheared, and are intruded by pegmatites and basic dikes. The pegmatites are mostly 1 to 3 feet (0.3 to 0.6 meters) thick, dip steeply, and many strike N30W. Local rocks include Middle Miocene to Oligocene granitic rocks.
