A former Mn-Zn-Pb-Ag-Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 29, T1N, R7W, MPM, . Owned by Howard Stratton (100%), Montana (1988). The Ophir Mine was purchased in 1920 to work with the Emma. In 1924, the Czarromah claim was acquired, also the Mary Louise and Railroad claims. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 250 meters.

Mineralization is a polymetallic deposit hosted in quartz monzonite. The vein crosses S. Washington Street. It ends in a high knob that overlooks Missoula Gulch. A smaller outcrop is beyond the gulch. Deposited at a lower temperature than the central deposits, such as the Leonard Mine, it has rhodochrosite as a major gangue mineral. Associated rocks include Late Cretaceous Butte Quartz Monzonite (Boulder Batholith). Local rocks include the Boulder batholith and broadly related stocks.

Workings include underground openings. During 1916 the shaft was dewatered to the 800 foot level. The ore body at that level was good in Zn-Pb-Ag values. A shaft was sunk on the 800 foot level. A crosscut was extended on the 1,600 foot level of the original mine. In 1920 a 1,763 foot crosscut was being extended towards the Ophir Mine. In 1926, the main shaft was to the 1,200 foot level. In 1942, 1,263 feet in shafts were added and 26,459 feet of drifts. In 1943, another 25,962 feet in shafts were added and 23,095 feed of drifts.

Mn was produced during the period 1934-1957.

Analytical data results: High-grade Zn ore (1922): 21% Zn, 38 ounces/ton Ag, 8% Pb on the 1,000 foot level. Mn bodies of 41% were found.
