Latitude & Longitude (WGS84): 35° 22' North , 114° 9' West
Latitude & Longitude (decimal): 35.3666666667, -114.15

A surface Cu-Mo-Au-Pb-Zn-Ag-gemstone mine discovered 1906. Mineralization is a porphyry copper deposit. The orebodies are crenulate, tabular, and crescent-shaped. The host rock is the Escabrosa limestone. Associated rock unit is the Pioneer shale of the Apache group. Ore control was thoroughly fractured rock. Sulphide mineralization conforms to the topography of the Ithaca Peak. Ore concentration was enrichment controlled by Pre-oligocene to Plio-Pleistocene topography. Meteoric fluids were leached below the water table. Alteration includes silicification and sericitization in core, argillization, propylitization. The average depth of oxidation is 20 feet.

Locally Precambrian scistosity strikes N30ºE. Veins and dikes strike NW to NNW. Shattering after intrusion of rhyolite dikes, NW & NE-trending fractures.
