Structure: Claims Are Located Along A Northerly Trending Fault Which Forms The Contact Between Uplifted Paleozoic Sedimentary Rocks To The East And Tertiary Andesitic Rocks To The West.
Deposit: Deposits occur in veins and shoots within fault and fracture zones, or in beds and pockets along gently folded bedding planes. Most important ore bodies were found belo W an impermeable shale and at fault-fracture intersections. 2 patented claims mineral survey nos. 763 and 896 covering 28.32 acres. 1 claim (island view) of undetermined status.
Geology: Additional host rock formations are penn. Magdalena group, miss. Kelly fm., miss. Lake valley fm., dev. Onate fm., ord. Valmont fm., and ord. Montoya fm.. For regional trends, tectonic setting and general geology see hermosa district.
Rock formation(s): Fusselman Dolomite;Percha Shale
Ore(s): Mineralized Solutions Rising From A Shallow Igneous Mass Were Channeled Along Fault Zones And Localized In Fractures And Bedding Planes Beneath An Impermeable Layer.
