A fluorspar occurrence/prospect located in the SE¼ sec. 32, T21S, R9W, NMM, about 12 miles N8W of Deming, on state land (state lease). Operated by James E. Wilson, Brady, Texas (1977-1978). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a fluorspar deposit hosted in Late Permian limestone. The ore body is in irregular pods and lenses (irregularly-shaped vugs, pods, fractures, and mantos as fluorite-jasperoid replacement bodies). Controls for ore emplacement included mineralization localized in brecciated host rock. Local rocks include older piedmont alluvial deposits and shallow basin fill.
Workings include surface prospect pits and exploratory trenches.
