A Cu-Ag-Au-Pb-Zn mine group located in West-central sec. 30, T.23S., R.16E. (protracted). Owned at times, or in part, by the Independent Mining & Milling Co.; Forsythe; Michels; Proto Brothers; Bostwick; Fulton; Sullivan; Raymond & Bostwick; Todd; and, Blabon.
Ore is irregular vein-like mineralization of chalcopyrite and oxidized copper minerals, with spotty and minor galena and sphalerite, along fault or shear zones in Laramide granodiorite.
Workings include tunnel and shaft operations. Mined sporadically from the early 1900's through 1951, producing some 2,000 tons of ore for the group, averaging about 8% Cu, 3 oz. Ag/T, 0.1 oz. Au/T and minor lead.
NOTE: Previous coordinates for this locality, 31° 35' 43'' North , 110° 51' 32'' West, are invalid. They were not in Santa Cruz County, let alone the Patagonia Mountains. Also, they did not agree with the Township & Range. The current coordinates are an approximation and put it in the area of the Gladstone Mine group (WW Besse, 2014).
