This is a unique geological occurrence for the particular region. Locals found an old tree remains substituted by volkonskoite. It was mined in 1936-1938 and they dig out about 40 000 kilos of the mineral, using as a pigment. They also extracted 1500 kilos of the mineral during the Second World War. The entrance to the adit is filled up now and there is a lot of the rubbish in the abandoned area of this small mine.
