A former small underground Cu-Ag-Au-Gemstone mine located in the SW ¼ sec. 16, T.19S., R.25E. (Pearce 15 minute topo map), 1/2 mile SE of Turquoise Mountain, and approximately 1/4 mile north of Courtland. Produced 1909-1940. Owned at times, or in part, by the Calumet & Arizona Mining Co. and the Phelps Dodge Corp. Operators including Charles Gerdes, Calumet Arizona, Gerdes & McDonald, and F.E. Laymon.

Mineralization is irregular, oxidized, blanket-like copper ores in thrust fault breccia between Bolsa Quartzite above, and Carboniferous Abrigo Limestone below. Thickness of the overthrust material is about 100 feet. Some ore is in the limestone. Ore concentration was oxidation. In some areas, Abrigo Limestone underlies Bolsa Quartzite in the overlying plate. The thickness of the overthrust material about 100 feet.

Local structures include an overthrust of Bolsa Quartzite over Paleozoic rocks.

Workings include a shaft(s). Workings are 1,493.52 meters long by 152.4 meters deep. Average of 15 feet thick drifts on the 145, 215, 260, 275, 300, and 500 foot levels. Mineralization pinched out at depth. Workings adjoin the Maid of Sunshine & the Mary shaft sunk in 1909.
