Formula: Fe2+3Al2(SiO4)3 Habit: crude dodecahedral Colour: very dark red/black Fluorescence: none Description: From my personal mineral experience and my specimens from this site, the garnets appear to be almandine. Small crystals are considered rare and a lucky find, so these large crystals (up to over 1") are probably the best from the locale. References: |
