Harry Walker #16
An U-V occurrence/claim/mine located in N-central sec. 12, T26N, R10E, G&SRM, SSE of Cameron and SE of Gray Mountain (town). The Ramco No. 24 claim extends onto the Harry Walker No. 16. The latter is a portion of the RAmco No. 24 pit. This locality is not listed in the USGS MRDS database. The geographic coordinates presented are approximate to the center of sec. 12.
Mineralization is an U-V deposit hosted in sandstone of the Petrified Forest Member of the Chinle Formation. The ore is of the carnotite-type.
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open pit, originally 180 feet x 70 feet x 5 feet deep.
Production was 51 tons of ore @ 0.12% U3O8; 0.15% V2O5 (1957).
