Historic gold mine.

Intermittently active from 1899 to 1904 by an Auckland syndicate. George Cummings was found as one of the prospectors. C.O.G. and/or William Odlum is also mentioned in the warden's court. The syndicate was organised enough to erect a five stamp battery, and aerial tramway from the mine to the mill. When inspected in 1912, the site had long been abandoned, with several small adits still evident.

A total of 245 tonnes of ore was crushed for only 30 ounces of gold. The country rock is rhyolitic tuff, intrusive rhyolite, and dacite. This hosts small erratic seams with sparse mineralisation.

The mine was near a creek of the same name, although spelt Klondyke rather than (Bell, 1912) Klondike. This is 3 kilometres east north-east as the crow flies from Omahu on the main highway, within the ranges. The Mindat co-ordinates denote the creek only.
