Historic gold mine.

The Dubbo Gold Mining Company Limited was formed in 1885 with thirty shareholders, to take over the Earl of Glasgow lease, but did little with its lease, which neighboured the Talisman Mine. It was later taken over by the Crown Mine, but again there was no activity due to the lease distance from the Crown battery. This left a section of the Maria Reef un-mined.

The Talisman Dubbo Company was formed in 1929, and drove into the south side of Mount Karangahake in late 1930 for 450 feet. Two tonnes of ore was tested, and another 100 tonnes stock piled. They attempted to re-open the old Talisman No. 1 level from the north-west face of the mountain, conducted some stoping, erected an aerial tramway, and were transporting ore between 1932-1933. The mine was said to be profitable up to 1938, when the ore ran out, and the mine closed in 1940.
