This is the approximate location of a small mine of unknown age, which is now visible only as a variation in the shape of the hill.
The adit, reported to be at least twenty feet into the hillside, has been largely backfilled. It penetrates into the middle and lower units of the Codden Hill Cherts.
While it is not certain what the mine was originaly worked for, it is likely that it was for lead mineralisation.
The location and description was reported verbally by the current landowner.
