Salinas de Bujalcayado
Water evaporation saltworks from fountains and wells located close to the Arroyo de la Dehesa. The salt obtained, halite, comes from the dissolution of salt deposits in Keuper levels (Triassic Age). These saltworks were formerly registered under the names "La Alfonsina", "La Abundante" and "La Verdad" and are relatively recent, beginning to explode in the 1880s. They were in activity until the 1960s and are now abandoned, as well as most of the village of Bujalcayado. Still today, its installations are well-preserved, and worth a visit.
