Cesano 8 geothermal well was drilled in 1980 by the AGIP-ENEL joint venture (ENEL, the National Electrical Energy Agency, as operator) to a depth 960 m, inside the Baccano caldera.

Syngenite has been found as veinlet swarms in association with arcanite.
