A former W-Au occurrence/mine located in the SW¼ sec. 24, T6N, R15W, G&SRM, 5.7 km (3.6 miles) W of Salome Peak (coordinates of record), on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Also located in secs. 23, 25 & 26. Discovered and started producing in 1951. Owned at times, or in part, by Brusco; Wood & Huthmacher; Aplington; Floreen & Associates; and, Fleming. Owned and operated by Mr. R. Wreggit (Transverse Mines Inc.) of Arizona (1982). The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 100 meters.

Mineralization is small grains and pods of scheelite in discontinuous quartz lenses in Mesozoic calcareous schist, limestone and in quartz fissure veins in Laramide granitic intrusive. The ore zone is 152.4 meters long, 61 meters wide, 46 meters thick, strikes N53E and dips 60S. There is strong fracturing and associated diabase dikes. Local rocks include Paleozoic sedimentary rocks and Late and middle Pleistocene surficial deposits.

The strike and dip shown is only one of several different attitudes of the ore bodies. Other strike and dips include N50-56E, 50-70SE; N70-75E, 50-60SE; E, 40S; and N80W, 55SW.

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of shafts, adits, pits, tunnels and open cuts from 1951 to 1978.

Production was some 1,200 tons of ore yielding about 600 units of WO3.
