Hohsandjoch/Passo del Sabbione (2901 m), located between Hohsandhorn/Punta del Sabbione (3182 m) and Punta d'Arbola/Ofenhorn (3235 m), is a pass connecting the basins of Sabbione/Hohsand Glacier (Formazza Valley) and Tälli Glacier (Binn Valley).
In the Hohsandjoch/Passo del Sabbione area, minerals are found in Alpine fissures in gneiss of the Monte Leone nappe.
SEM-WDS analysis of stibite-Ca has shown that Ca is the dominant extra-framework cation, accompanied by subordinate K, minor Na, and traces of Sr and Mg (Bosio & Lovskaya, 2007).
