These are actually historically three separate leases, but are adjoined to each other along the main Niagara lode, the leases covering a distance of about 200 metres. Little information was found, but have been listed based on a modern exploration company which has mapped the area.
They are found wedged between the narrow strip of land between the Kookynie Road and the railway line. The O.K. is found opposite the Niagara Dam turn-off. No historic information could be found. The site contains a JORC estimate of 321 000 tonnes of ore at 0.8 g/t yielding 8000 ounces of gold.
Next to the east along the line of shafts is the Eaglehawk Feather, named after the Victorian company who operated it between 1904 to 1908. A square battery sands remnant can be seen at the eastern edge of the lease. The ten head battery mainly crushed for prospectors in the district, with minor mining of its own lease. It was worked to 200 feet but a heavy inflow of water hampered operations. It is claimed the site produced 3329 ounces of gold from 7521 tonnes of ore.
Heading along the line of shafts parallel to the road is the Missing Link Gold Mine It contains a JORC estimate of 82 000 tonnes of ore at 2.0 g/t yielding 5000 ounces of gold. The mine was originally developed by the Challenge company who sank a shaft to 75 feet. It is mentioned in 1903 being worked by the Hayes brothers who paid 2500 pounds for an option, and had sunk a shaft to 130 feet. The prior owners were Foster and party. Foster obtained 132 tonnes for 336 ounces of gold.
