One 1220m well, called the Pucci drill hole, was drilled on the south slope of the mountain at an elevation of 1628m, about 1 km SSW of Timberline Lodge near the base of the Pucci ski chair lift.
It is sited near the headwaters of the west fork of the Salmon River in a unit mapped as Quaternary clastic debris that consists of reworked detritus and pyroclastic material. The drilled interval is composed of approximately 5 to 158.5m thick units of this volcaniclastic material that are interbedded with 28 grayish pyroxene andesite flows that vary in thickness from 3 to 97.5m
