Description from Ann P. Sabina (1965):
"Beautiful apple-green to emerald-green amazonite occurs in a pegmatite dyke on an island at the north end of Lac Sairs. The locality provides some of the best amazonite to be found anywhere in Canada and, as a result, is highly prized by lapidarists for jewelry purposes. A small amount of stripping has exposed the dyke on the south side of the island near the top of the hill which makes up most of the island."
On some maps the island's name is shown as Île de l'amazonite; this may be an informal name.
