The Sugarstone is a historic gold mine, 80 kilometres north of Sandstone, and just north-east of the Sandstone-Meekatharra Road and Colga Downs Station (East) turn-off. It was active between 1908 to 1912.
C. Jameson and Galbally owned the mine. Gold was obtained from an open pit 10 feet wide and 30 feet depth. Like much of the area the quartz lenses were short, with the surrounding schist largely barren.
A 10 head mill was erected in 1909. By 1911, Lupton and party from north of Erroll's had the mine, and there were some crushings until 1912.
In 1917, three young prospectors, brothers A. and V. Woimar, and Stanley Gable obtained some alluvial gold from the lease, owned by A. Woimar Senior.
