Yalpoudnie Mine, mine developed from the 1880s on surface indications of green-blue copper ore which was prospected in two shafts and numerous surface pits and trenches over a strike length of ~ 200m along a NE-trending lode 2-4m wide. The lode consisted of bunches of copper ore, malachite, azurite, copper oxide in a quartz-iron oxide associated with minor feldspar and trace graphite in a host gneiss. Mineralisation occurred at the interface of graphite schist, and quartz-feldspar gneiss. Galena occurred as minor isolated patches.
