A small, 200m x 90 m single-level quarry, started in 1968 by A. Sicotte et fils Inc. under the name "John Self quarry".
It is presently out of operation.
The following description is taken from Quebec's department of mines website :
The rocks exposed in the quarry consist of a fine-grained, medium gray limestone, and a dark gray mudstone, deposited in alternate beds of 1 to 10 cm thickness, which gives the rock a banded look.
The limestone beds form a major anticline, and are cut at a nearly-right angle by an irregular cleavage dotted with black shale platings.
