A noted granite pegmatite quarry is located near the village of Branchville. There are no other mineral localities in this village. Technically, the village is in the town of Ridgefield (coordinates are for the intersection of US Route 7 and state Route 102 in southeasternmost Ridgefield), while the pegmatite quarry is just across the border to the east in the town of Redding.
