Epithermal porphyry copper-molybdenum-gold-silver deposits within a small fault-bounded volcanic basin that was intruded by Jurassic granites and an extensive Cretaceous volcanic suite controlled by a major NE-trending deep fault zone. In the center of the basin, dacitic porphyry occurs as a pipe-like intrusion, which is surrounded by dacitic volcanic breccia, tuff and lava. A system of circular and radial faults and fissures around the pipe is filled with veins and hydrothermal breccias.

The ore field is 14 km long and 4 km wide and contains six major deposits as well as numerous occurrences. It straddles the border between Shanghang and Wuping counties.
