Cordierite-garnet-gedrite (anthophyllite) rocks and associated gneisses have been studied because of their frequent association with sulphide ore deposits and their anomalous mineral assemblages. This location was the first noted occurrence of cordierite in Canada, and of gedrite in N. America. Garnets (30%)occur in a band up to 30 ft wide, are large, clear and red.
