A borate occurrence (old US Borax & Chemical Co. claim) located in the SE¼SE¼ sec. 36, T26N, R2E, SBM, 3.2 km (2.0 miles) N72W (WNW) of Ryan.

Mineralization is a borate and gypsum deposit of Holocene borates in a surficial sponge containing much gypsum and ulexite, formed by the weathering of proximate colemanite and priceite veins in Late Tertiary rocks (basalt).

NOTE: This locality is not listed in the USGS MRDS database. There is only another Hard Scrabble claim listed pertaining to a polymetallic occurrence in another area of Inyo County.
