Geographical location: located in the southern area of the Gutâi Mountains, 18 km ESE of Baia Mare, 7 km SE of Baia Sprie locality and 3 km NW of Șurdești village.
Geological investigations: Neogene magmatic rocks, 'biotite'-quartz andesites, piroxene-hornblende andesite-"Mogoșa" type, dacites and rhyodacites.
Metallogenetic unit: sub-province associated to Neogene magmatism, Gutâi Metallogenetic District.
Development status: the main occurrence of "Dănești" dacite type with presence of 'biotite' (Marias, 2005). Extensive plaque of chalcedony deposition over dacite/rhyodacite. The only occurrence in the South Gutâi Region that has been identified the amethyst in the second stage crystallization over chalcedony.
