Mont Rougemont is one of the Monteregian Hills intrusions quite close to the most famous of the Hills, Mont Saint-Hilaire. It forms a prominent hill in a generally flat area of about 4 km in diameter at the base. The main mass of the intrusion comprises of feldspathic peridotites, pyroxenites, gabbros, and a hornfels collar. The age of the intrusion is 136±10 Ma.
