The Mica King East pegmatite forms a low ridge on the western banks of Morrissey Creek, directly north of the main access track into the Yinnietharra field. The track skirts the western end of the pegmatite. Said to be the most beryl rich pegmatite in the field, you will battle to find specimens on the surface now. It consists of coarse grained microcline-quartz-muscovite, 150 metres long and up to 40 metres wide. Species include albite, beryl, bismuthinite, bismuthite, magnetite, microcline, muscovite and quartz.
Well known Western Australian geologist, E.S. Simpson in 1948 reported hexagonal milky white and pale green beryl crystals 8 inches in diameter and 12 inches in length. There are a few shallow diggings on the top of the ridge but the hard cap rock has discouraged any further exploration of the pegmatite.
