The Pan-sho general mining area (or Padamyar mine as it was known in the 1980s) is situated to the SW of Le-U-le-taw mines, adjacent to Aye-zadi hill, less than 2 km NE of the center of Mogok. Principle rocks are syenite and marble. Ruby and spinel were found in the alluvium.
On the hilltop (22°56'03"N. 96°30'33"E. 1,158m ASL) blue sapphires and a smaller number of rubies were mined in the alluvium in an open-pit scheme. Some of these gems are of fine quality and attractive in appearance.
The anjacent area of Padan-sho, a newly-developed mining scheme was launched. In May 1999, with the mines in full operation, ruby, sapphire, spinel, moonstone, quartz, apatite, zircon and schorl were recovered from the alluvium. In 2002, the Pan-sho and Padan-sho mines were taken over by the UMEHL and currently operate under the name Nga-yant-inn. - Ted Themelis (2008) Gems and Mines of Mogok
