An alkaline granite intrusion, which forms part of the Ulungur river zone. This belt of alkaline granites in northern Xinjiang trends in southeastern direction along the southern bank of the Ulungur river and parallel to the suture zone between the Junggar plate and the Altay orogenic belt. The granites were formed within a short period of time during the latest stage of the Hercynian calc-alkaline magmatic cycle (Rb-Sr isochron ages: 292-309 Ma), after the syn-collisional S-type and post-collisional uplift I-type granitoids of the Altay region. They compare to post-orogenic A-type alkali granites and mark the end of the Hercynian orogeny in this area.
