Access to the bay only during Weekends and public holidays. Most of the minerals are to be found inside the many septarian nodules found within the clays/mudstones of the lower portion of the cliffs and across the bay below Gad Cliff at low tide. Area lies within MOD property and therefore permission must be obtained prior to going.
Of particular note is the occurrence of barite, which appears to owe its unusual dark colouring to the presence of hydrocarbons. Some of the crystals found have occasionally exhibited pleochroism (of a darkish yellow to purple).
