The Redeemer Gold Mine is 8 kilometres south south-west of the Agnew Hotel. The deposit was discovered by Western Mining Corporation in 1985. The open pit is presently being infilled by waste rock from other mines.

Production from 1988 to 2002 totalled 11.31 Mt at 3.89 g/t yielding 1.411 million ounces. Open pit mining from 1988 to 1991 achieved 2.09 Mt at 3.53 g/t yielding 0.238 million ounces. Underground mining from 1990 to 2002 achieved 9.2 Mt at 3.97 g/t yielding 1.176 million ounces. A resource remains of 3.16 Mt at 4.4 g/t.

The deposit is found on the Emu Shear Zone. It lies beneath a lag strewn surface of saprolite, tillite and gravel, and is gold poor.

The lower stratabound mineralisation is hosted by the mafic conglomerate unit near the base of the Scotty Creek Formation. Five zones of mineralisation have been defined:

1) Redeemer Main : This is the major ore source, containing poor veining and sulphides, but abundant biotite and actinolite alteration. The gold occurs as fine grains interstitial to coarse actinolite and biotite. A number of (un-named) Bi-Te sulphides, chalcopyrite, molybdenite and scheelite occurs in the ore zone which grades at 4 to 5 g/t.

2) West Lode: Has similar geology to Redeemer Main with less intense biotite alteration, and has numerous quartz-carbonate veins through the mafic conglomerate.

3) North Pipe: A high grade shoot located east of the Redeemer Fault and West Lode, on the Hanging wall between the mafic and ultramafic conglomerate. Gold is associated with quartz-carbonate veins and coarse arsenopyrite.

4 & 5) Zones 2 and 3: These are more typical small quartz vein zones, found in intermediate conglomerate to the west of the Redeemer Main, with weak biotite-actinolite alteration and coarse arsenopyrite.
